The development of the new website began with me outlining key requirements to ensure it met the organisation’s needs. I conducted a thorough assessment, focusing on usability, functionality, and design principles to maximise engagement. My review identified three essential priorities for the project.
Firstly, the website needed to be mobile-friendly, ensuring accessibility across all devices and providing a seamless user experience. Secondly, it was important to integrate secure online payment functionality, allowing users to make transactions efficiently and safely. Lastly, the site required a modern visual appeal to enhance engagement and align with current design trends.
In addition to these priorities, I included recommendations to optimise performance and security.
Google Workspace (for Non-profit) setup & migration
The setup of Google Workspace for the charity began with me configuring the system to provide staff and volunteers with secure, managed access to essential tools. I conducted a structured implementation process, ensuring that Gmail, Drive, and other Workspace services were tailored to the organisation’s needs while maintaining security and ease of use. My approach focused on three key areas to maximise efficiency and collaboration.
Firstly, I enabled managed Gmail accounts, ensuring professional communication with custom email addresses while benefiting from Google’s security and spam protection. Secondly, I configured Google Drive with structured shared drives, allowing teams to collaborate effectively while maintaining clear access controls and data security. Lastly, I integrated additional Workspace tools, such as Google Calendar and Meet, to streamline scheduling and remote collaboration.
Booking System
The implementation of a booking system for the charity began with sourcing an appropriate solution that met the organisation’s needs for booking boats and efficiently managing invoicing for groups. After a thorough evaluation, I selected Lemon Booking as the ideal platform due to its user-friendly interface and robust features. My setup process focused on three key areas to maximise efficiency and streamline operations.
Firstly, I configured the system to allow users to book boats online, providing a seamless and intuitive booking experience while reducing manual administrative tasks. Secondly, I enabled the invoicing functionality, ensuring that groups could be invoiced accurately and promptly, with clear records for financial management. Lastly, I customised the platform’s settings to align with the charity’s processes, ensuring that all data was organised, secure, and easily accessible.
